Tourism, Heritage and Language

The Natural Heritage, Cultural Heritage and the Spanish Language are endogenous resources that, because they are linked to the territory, are considered strategic in terms of their economic and dynamic potential, and also as an indisputable basis for territorial sustainability.

Tourism is one of the activities that link to this area, and within the tourism activity it is worth noting how Castilla y León has notably increased the number of national and foreign visitors it receives, which is why tourism is becoming more and more important. one of the key economic activities within our community.
This tourist activity is supported by a wide variety of resources and monumental, historical and linguistic heritage that constitute an endogenous potential that is analyzed and studied by the Tourism, Heritage and Language working group.

Just to list some of these resources, those that have obtained the recognition of World Heritage, are the following:

  • Ávila
  • French Santiago Trail
  • Burgos Cathedral
  • Las médulas Landscape enviroment
  • Salamanca
  • Segovia
  • Green Mud Rock Art Site
  • Archaeological site of the Sierra de Atapuerca
  • Hayedos de Cuesta Fría y Canal de Asotín (León), y Hayedo de Riofrío (Segovia)
  • Falconry
  • Mediterranean Diet

Este proceso de agregación de valor a estos recursos ligados al territorio puede ser a su vez una oportunidad para extender la innovación y la competitividad de la economía regional a otros ámbitos.

In 2017, within the working group of tourism, heritage and language, we conducted a study for the possible applicability of new forms of tourism respectful of our natural heritage, specifically for the possible implementation of new products and initiatives in the field of tourism ornithological.
